One Day Workshop conducted at Muthoot Engineering College, Cochin in the month of November 2019.

Civil Engineering Department, Muthoot Institute of Technology and Science in association with ICI - Student chapter MITS organized a one day workshop titled “Hands on - Workshop on Concrete Mix Design’’ on 7th November 2019 conducted at Seminar Hall, MITS. Sixty delegates including students and faculties attended the function.

Welcome address was given by Ms. Nimina Thomas, student S7, MITS. A brief introduction about the speaker was also given by her.

Er. Shelly S Fernandez, Managing Director, Qcrete Readymix (India), made presentation on the following topics:

  1. Importance of material properties on mix design.
  2. Effect of water cement ratio on strength and workability.
  3. Effect of admixtures in reducing cement content.
  4. Illustrative example on concrete mix design.
  5. Laboratory demonstration of trial mix.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks by Sam Joseph.
